San Diego Zoo Day

Grandma was in charge of breakfast this morning that consisted of pancakes, bacon, bananas and yogurt.  We were planning on leaving at 8:00 to head to the San Diego Zoo and we actually left right on time.  We arrived around 8:40 and got second row parking.  It was a little chillier than we expected with some light drizzle, but by noonish, the sun came out and it was a gorgeous day. Since we were there before the zoo actually opened up, we got to listen to a little presentation about the zoo and then right at 9:00, the announcer told us to get our cameras ready and sure enough, it would have been a great video but Grandma didn't push the start button.  She missed filming the Macaws taking off for a magnificent opening of the zoo.

Grandpa lead the way most of the day with help form Sara at certain times.  John was excited as the first exhibit today was the reptile house and on to the reptile walk.
Around noon we stopped the tree house where a restaurant and cafe offered lunch options.  We went with the cafe and dropped a bunch of dough.

Six hours later, the kids had had it and adults also so we called it a day at the zoo.  We were all wanting ice cream but the ice cream shop was closed at the zoo so we decided we would just get it on the way back.  Well, easier said then done, just north of the resort at Pacific Beach Grandpa found a Dairy Queen.  Then back to condo.  John and Grandpa took Wyatt and Morgan to large pool and Sara and Grandma went to grocery store.  Our pool area has beautiful areas set for grilling so we grilled hot dogs for dinner along with chips, dips, yogurt and bananas.  After dinner we went back to firepit area for smores and directly to bed for the kids.  Sara did a couple loads of laundry to end the day.  And ca t forget the racoon family.  John and Jeff saw crossing he road by the entrance,  but Sara and John saw up close by the room.
